What is Detect-A-Clanker?

Detect-A-Clanker is a suite of four detection instruments, purpose-built for those who demand to know whether the words before them were conceived by a human mind or manufactured by a machine.

We live in an age where clankers compose letters, write code, apply for jobs, and hold entire conversations without ever existing. Most people cannot tell the difference. We built these tools for the ones who refuse to simply accept that.

Each instrument in our suite serves a distinct purpose.

Why We Made Detect-A-Clanker

There are circumstances in which it matters deeply whether a human being was responsible for what you are reading. A developer's code should reflect their competence. A candidate's application should reflect their mind. A message from a person you know should reflect that person.

The machines have grown convincing. Convincing enough, in many cases, to pass unquestioned. We found that unacceptable.

Detect-A-Clanker was built to restore a degree of accountability to a world that has grown dangerously comfortable with the counterfeit. We will not pretend our instruments are infallible. They surface indicators, they identify patterns, they render a verdict based on evidence. The final judgment, as it should be, remains with you.

What's With the Tone?

We take the problem seriously. The presentation, we admit, we enjoy perhaps a little too much.

There is something almost ceremonial about the situation we find ourselves in. Scribes have been replaced by machines that produce endless, flawless, utterly hollow text. Someone must hold the torch and look closely. Someone must call the clanker what it is.

The pomposity is deliberate. The Latin is genuine. The contempt for surreptitious, soulless machine-generated drivel is entirely sincere. We simply see no reason why the pursuit of truth should be a dreary one.
